| Brethren and Friends, welcome to the Valley of Tampa’s web site. To the brethren, I hope that your visit with us will make you proud of YOUR Valley and our accomplishments over the past 100+ years. To our friends visiting with us, I hope that you will learn more about the Valley of Tampa and about Scottish Rite Freemasonry.
The Valley of Tampa has played an instrumental part in the growth of the Scottish Rite in the Orient of Florida. As the home of the Orient’s oldest existing Consistory, the influence of our members have been felt throughout the Orient to the other Valleys. The membership in the Valley of Tampa has provided leadership over the years to the Supreme Council, Southern Jurisdiction with three brethren serving as Sovereign Grand Inspector General and to the Grand Lodge of Florida with fifteen Past Grand Masters being members of the Valley.
The Scottish Rite endeavors to provide further light to the Master Mason through our structure of twenty-nine degrees, which many have titled the College of Freemasonry. Scottish Rite Masons are also involved in their communities which is evidenced by our work with the Scottish Rite Foundation of Florida, Inc., the efforts of our members in numerous Masonic and community charitable endeavors and with our sponsorship of the Order of DeMolay, Order of Rainbow For Girls and Job’s Daughters; all three organizations endeavoring to teach the young people of the United States and the world the attributes of good citizenship and leadership.
For additional information on the Scottish Rite, please contact our General Secretary, who will be happy to assist you in answering your questions or providing the information that you request. For our visiting brethren, please consider the Valley of Tampa your Valley away from home and join us for our monthly meetings.
Again, welcome to the Valley of Tampa.
